Michelle Tomasino

Michelle Tomasino joined UNLV in 2017, playing a key role in launching the Office of Clinical
Trials in tandem with the opening of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. As Director, she has
cultivated strategic community partnerships to support and expand interventional research
capabilities. Before her time at UNLV, Michelle spent 12 years at the Karmanos Cancer Institute
in Detroit, where she held various roles that helped shape a multidisciplinary and integrated
approach to clinical trials. At UNLV, she has laid the groundwork for establishing best practices,
policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure regulatory-compliant research. Her
efforts have also led to the centralization of research operations, including investigational
pharmacy, research laboratory services, and diagnostic imaging.
